Celebrating the 2600 Aniversary of Buddha (Buddha Jayanthiya), Popular Sri Lanka teledrama actor and director Sanath Abeysekara is to release his maiden movie. The theme of this film is the story of Sri Lanka getting the Buddhism with the visit of Mihindu thero from India and accordingly this film is named "Mahindagamanaya". (The arrival of Mihindu". The film will be released on May 18 and it is the day of Wesak Full moon Poyaday. There are many eminent actors and actresses in this film which has a historic theme. Popular actor Jeewan Kumarathunga plays the role of Dewanampiyathissa king and beautiful Dilhani Asokamala playes the role of Ramadaththa. The film cast also includes Joe Abeywickrama, Cletus Mendis, Kumara Thirimadura, Sarath Dikkumbura, Roshan Pilapitiya, Bimal Jayakody, Roshan Ranawana, Menaka Rajapaksha, Oshini Dias and Oshadhi Hewamadduma. This film has been produced by Daminda Upali Fernando. Camera director is Channa Deshapriya and art director is Sunil Premarathna. Music by Rohana Weerasinghe and costumes by Nilhan Senevirathna. The songs in this film have been written by Ellawala Medhananda thero, Pallegama Hemarathana thero and Professor Suil Ariyarathna. This film is a mega project with expenses getting closer to Rs. 80 million. This film also feature the Sauri ship which was prepared for Hambanthota harbor opening. The shooting of this film was done in Jafna, Kanthale, Thanthirimale, Puttlam and Hambanthota area. Following are released videos of this film which includes official trailers and media programs.
