Even though Colombo city naturally and historically has many beautiful and important places, It never showed it true elegance due to bad maintenance of the city.Most of the countries around the world put lot of attention to keep their major cities clean as it shows the countries’ pride and dignity. A Clean city is also good for the health of citizens and undoubtedly promote the tourism in the country.

Sri Lanka defenses took up this challenge to give Colombo city its due dignity. Sri lankan forces have carried out many programs under the guidance of defense secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksha to clean up the city and they are continuously monitoring the progress. Following are few images which depicts the make over that Colombo city has got due to these interventions.
