Cricket Inter Provincial T20 Tournament schedule
Sri Lanka Interprovincial T20 Tournament Schedule

With all the hopes of Sri Lankan Premier League has just become a dream, we now have to contend with the Sri Lanka Inter-provincial T20 tournament. This year, altogether five teams will be participating in the inter-provincialT20 cricket tournament. The captains and squads of the teams of Basnahira , Kandurata , Wayamba, Ruhuna and all combined Provinces yet to be announced.

Sri Lanka inter-provincial tournament will be starting on July 21, 2011 and the final will be on July 31. This T20 tournament will be good preparation for our Lankan team for facing the upcoming Australian series, which include two T20 matches along with three tests and five One Day Internationals.

Unfortunately no television broadcasters have yet come forward to offer the live coverage of Inter-provincial T20 series . We hope Sri lankan cricket board would put an effort to come up with some sort of negotiation with visual broadcasters to deliver the live match on TV for the sake of millions of local cricket fans in Sri Lanka.  On the other hand, it is a shame to know that there are not enough sponsors for a mega event like this in Sri Lanka, where cricket is being so much popular game in the country.

Given below is the tournament time table released by Sri lankan cricket board.  All the matches of this tournament are planned to play  in R. Premadasa Cricket stadium in Colombo.

The number of teams in this year for the inter-provincial tournament has been cut down and notably there are no school teams involved. The combined team will represent North and East provinces.
