Nipuni Peshala Mendis works as a fashion designer in stage shows and she took part in the film, “Kuweni,” which is running in theaters these days. Nipuni Peshala studied fashion designing  at University of Bangalore, India and joined to a Sri Lankan Free-trade zone company as a fashion designer.

Nipuni Peshala’s and Amanda Perera’s wedding took place in their family church according Roman Catholic customs.

A lot of well-known Sri Lankan Artists attended this fabulous wedding.

Dinusha tied the knot with Dammika after a love affair. According to unconfirmed reports Dammika is a resident of the United Kingdom. Following are few images from the beautiful wedding day which was attended by popular Sri Lankan artists and TV personalities.

Naradha came to the field as a television presenter. He and Thanja Jayawardana were introduced by Sirasa TV in their popular music chart show “Rasa Risi gee”. Narada and Thanuja became so popular in no time with their new style of presentation. They both did an excellent job changing the musical chart show style in Sri Lanka and some believed that they were having a love affair. They were so matching !

Narada is a graduate from Kelaniya university. He currently works as a program producer and a presenter in Young Asia television. Narada’s fiancées, Dinushee Atapattu, is a speech pathologist who obtained her MSc in speech pathology from University of Sheffield in England. Dinushee currently works as a lecturer in Colombo north medical faculty.

The couple has plans to have their wedding in next year. Here are few images of the couple on the engagement day.

Himali’s partner is Asanga who is the owner of Ad Land advertising company. The wedding was held at Cinnamon lake hotel in Colombo on March 01.  Himali’s closest friends in the media and entertainment field were present at the wedding to wish her on this important day.

Lassana Flora, the first ISO 9001-2008 certified florist company in South Asia, was in charge of all the floral decor and bouquet of Himali and Asanga’s Wedding. Lassana flora has always been a first choice floral designer among celebrities in Sri Lanka.

There have been an increasing number of tourists opting to tie the knot in the magical scenery of Sri Lanka and the wedding ceremony of Russian nationals held at the Maalu Maalu Resort & Spa at the immaculate Passekudah beach proved the fact that Sri Lanka is truly a magical place to celebrate your wedding. The Russian couple, Mr. Vladimir Luchakovskiy and Ms. Olga Gorbacheva arrived in Sri Lanka with their family to celebrate their special day in what they called, ‘paradise’.

The wedding was a beautifully romantic affair with a mix of Sinhalese, Russian and Hindu cultures. They had a traditional Sinhala Poruwa ceremony with Kandyan Dancers and drummers, as in accordance to the Sinhalese custom. This event was followed by their Russian customs. The Bride was the picture of elegance in a bright Saari and Hindu jewellery and the groom was in a Vettie and a turban as well to emphasis the Hindu culture to mark an unforgettable day for both, the married couple as well as the Passekudah locals. This wedding was a perfect indication that Sri Lanka has all the elements of charm and character to fit into the bill as an exotic dream wedding destination for tourists to Sri Lanka, the pearl of the Indian Ocean.

They were dating for almost seven years before tying the knot with blessings of the parents. Udaya wore a national suite with a golden yellow scarf and Vindya was simply beautiful in a traditional Osariya. The couple exchanged vows in front of large gathering of relatives and friends which included many of Udaya’s friend in the music field.

The latest news revealed that he was resigned from Centigradez and opened a new music company under the name “Swadesh Music”. His bride Ms Vindya Witharana is the manager of his new company.

It was a surprise to most of the artists in the field when they heard the news about Shihan’s wedding. Why Shihan kept it as a secret…

Only very few knew about my wedding day. I have many friends. If I invited I would have missed some and it is not nice. Also, I like to have a quiet life. I never wanted to have a big wedding. Shihan said.

Shihan was the prince in many girls’ dream loves. He is handsome, popular and talented. Who is the lucky girl ?

To cut a long story short, She is Geshni Clementa. Geshi is my first love. I sang “Clementina” song for her.

Shihan’s love story began in 2003 when they were studying in Kandana De Mazenod College.

I went to De Mazenod from Grade 1 and Geshi came to my school at grade 6 in 1999. I felt something special on the very first day I saw here. We were in love from 2003 and I was in grade 12 and Geshi was in grade 10 at that time. I was just a school boy and she loved me. Shihan shared how they first get to know.

Like any other teenage love, Shihan and Geshi love story also had many hurdles.

Geshis father was a teacher in our school. Those days I did not have a good reputation as a good student. Frankly, I had already been suspended from school three times. Shihan revealed.

Why was Shihan suspended from school….

Once we got the permission from school for a choir. Instead, we organized a musical night. Also my fashions were not entertained by my teachers very much. So I was suspended from school few times.

How could you convince Geshni’s parents ?

I was changing with time and established my self. I showed that I have an aim in life. In any case, parents do not agree with school love affairs. At the end we both has our parents blessings for the wedding.

Shihan’s parents had to join his sister in Australia leaving Shihan alone in Sri Lanka. This was also another reason for them to have their wedding at this time. Shihan also owns a recording studio and conducts music class at his new home in Kandana. The couple did not go away for the honeymoon after the wedding ceremony at Nayakanda Catholic church. Instead they started to get settle in their home.

Malith Perera’s engagement was held recently in Melbourne, Victoria in Australia. The lucky girl is Sash Hewage who is also currently residing in Australia. The couple did not still have the wedding ceremony; we hope they will have a grand wedding day back home in Sri Lanka.
